UpNoord

About us

UpNoord is the what's-on guide for Amsterdam Noord. Everything happening, in one place, with a link through to the organiser.

Noord has the best places. We make sure you do not miss them.

UpNoord gathers what is on across the IJ. Concerts, films, exhibitions, neighbourhood parties, sport and activities for kids, from the NDSM wharf to EYE, from the Tolhuistuin to murmur. We bring it together in one place, so you do not have to trawl ten websites to know what is on.

What we do

We are a referral guide, not a ticket seller. We show only the facts you need to choose: what it is, where it is and when. The short description is our own, not taken from the organiser. For the full story, current times or a ticket, you click through to the source. The logos belong to the venues themselves.

How it works

  1. We fetch the programmes of the main venues and locations in Noord throughout the day, four times a day, so the agenda stays fresh.
  2. You simply ask your question at the top, for example this weekend or something with kids, and the search shows what fits straight away.
  3. Click through to the organiser for times and tickets. You arrange the rest there.

Why

Because Noord is buzzing and deserves that overview. No endless scrolling, no scattered calendars, just a clear view of what there is to experience in the neighbourhood this week.

What is coming

UpNoord is growing into a guide to all of Noord. Alongside the agenda, six sections are being added, each made the same way: up-to-date information from reliable sources, in our own words, with a link through to the source. And for all of it, you can simply ask VRAAG.

Ask instead of search

UpNoord was built to show what the VRAAG technology can do. A standard search function only matches words: type "kids Saturday" and it looks for exactly those words. On UpNoord you simply ask a question in your own words.

VRAAG understands what you mean: a day or time of day, the kind of activity, the place and who it is for. It uses that to search the current agenda and answers with the events that fit, each with a link to the organiser. VRAAG makes nothing up. The answer only comes from what is really in the agenda.

The data comes from more than twenty sources: the agendas of venues, museums, clubs and neighbourhood spots in Noord. We collect them automatically throughout the day, so the answers stay current. VRAAG runs on Mistral, a European language model, and questions are processed within the EU.

VRAAG for your website

We offer the VRAAG technology free of charge to companies and institutions, with your own content and house style or fully tailor-made. Get in touch for the possibilities and conditions.
